The Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons (FAVOT) resumed its activities on Monday, 30 March, by organizing a two-day training workshop in Beni Suef Governorate for Social Women Leaders from various districts and villages across the governorate. The workshop is being held in cooperation with the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP), with the participation of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The workshop aims to raise awareness of the role of the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP), while also introducing the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons (FAVOT) and its role in supporting victims by providing financial, psychological, health, and social assistance.
It also seeks to enhance participants' understanding of trafficking in persons, its various forms, and the legal frameworks for combating and preventing the crime. The workshop aims to prepare the Social Women Leaders to contribute effectively to the State's efforts to combat and prevent trafficking in persons, strengthen community awareness of its risks, and protect those most vulnerable to exploitation.
The workshop builds on a series of similar training workshops organized by the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons (FAVOT) between December and February in Fayoum, Minya, Damietta, Alexandria, Dakahlia, and Port Said Governorates.
