The Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons is organizing a training programme in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate from 21 to 24 September, as part of the Fund’s efforts to raise awareness of the risks of human trafficking and enhance the capacities of personnel and relevant entities to identify and respond to cases of human trafficking, in addition to raising awareness of the Fund’s role, mandate, and the services it provides to victims of human trafficking, as well as the safe reporting mechanisms available through the Fund’s hotline, 17616.
Over the four days, the programme targets a range of groups and entities concerned with combating human trafficking and protecting victims, thereby contributing to enhancing coordination and integrating efforts among various relevant entities.
The first day is dedicated to a training programme for Social Women Leaders, covering the concept of human trafficking, its various forms and manifestations, ways to prevent it, and mechanisms for identifying indicators that individuals may be at risk of exploitation or trafficking.
The second day features a training programme for social monitors and personnel working in Observation centers, aimed at strengthening their knowledge and skills in identifying cases of human trafficking, responding to such cases, and providing support and protection to victims, as well as raising awareness of the competent authorities and referral mechanisms.
The third day is dedicated to raising awareness of the risks of human trafficking and the role of religious institutions in preventing and combating the crime, through a training programme targeting Muslim and Christian religious leaders. This aims to strengthen the role of religious discourse in raising awareness of the risks of exploitation and human trafficking and protecting groups most vulnerable to exploitation.
The fourth day targets representatives of national councils, protection committees, personnel working in human rights units, and labour inspectors at the Directorate of Labour, with the aim of raising awareness of frameworks for combating human trafficking, strengthening mechanisms for identifying and responding to cases, and supporting cooperation and coordination among relevant entities.
The programme is organized in the context of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons’ commitment to continuing its efforts in awareness-raising and prevention and building the capacities of personnel and groups who work directly with those most vulnerable to the risks of human trafficking, thereby contributing to strengthening the victim protection mechanisms and providing victims with support and assistance.
