H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy, Executive Director of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons, visited the Directorate of Labour in Damietta Governorate on Monday, 7 September 2026, where H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy met with Mr. Fathy El Sayed El Telawy, Director of the Directorate, along with several leaders and officials from the Directorate, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in combating human trafficking crimes and protecting the victims.
The meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons and the Directorate of Labour, particularly in raising awareness of human trafficking crimes, its forms, and risks, promoting awareness of prevention mechanisms, as well as raising awareness of the Fund’s role, mandate, and services provided to assist and support victims of such crimes.
The meeting also discussed the importance of integrating efforts among relevant entities to combat human trafficking crimes and enhance community awareness of the risks, thereby contributing to reducing the vulnerability of groups most at risk of exploitation to such crimes and supporting efforts for the early identification of human trafficking cases and addressing such cases in a manner that ensures the protection of victims and safeguards their rights.
The visit comes as part of the State’s commitment to intensifying efforts to combat human trafficking crimes and raise community awareness of such crimes and ways to prevent them, while providing a safe environment for victims that prevents them from being subjected to exploitation again, while supporting and empowering them economically and socially, helping them rebuild their lives and move toward a safer and more stable future.
