H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy, Executive Director of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons, concluded the Damietta Governorate tour with a meeting with Dr. Hossam El Din Fawzy, Governor of Damietta, as part of the Fund’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the executive bodies in the governorates and supporting national efforts to combat human trafficking crimes and protect their victims.
The meeting took place at the conclusion of a two-day field tour, during which H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy held a series of meetings with several officials and leaders from the governorate, as well as religious leaders, to discuss ways to coordinate efforts and develop mechanisms for cooperation in the areas of human trafficking prevention, victim protection, and providing the necessary support to them.
The tour highlighted the importance of integrating the roles of relevant institutions and bodies in strengthening the system for combating human trafficking, enhancing the efficiency of mechanisms for detecting and responding to cases, and providing a safe and supportive environment for victims that helps them overcome the effects of their experiences and regain their ability to reintegrate into society effectively.
These efforts come as part of the Egyptian state’s commitment to establishing an integrated system for combating human trafficking crimes, based on prevention, protection, and empowerment, and reflect its continued commitment to preserving human dignity and protecting groups most vulnerable to exploitation, in line with national efforts aimed at building a safer and more equitable society.
