The Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons concluded today, Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the activities of the training programme held over two days to qualify 32 Social Women Leaders in Damietta Governorate, in cooperation with the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP) and the Ministry of Social Solidarity, with the attendance of Dr. Ahmed Saeed, representing H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy, Executive Director of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons.
The training programme covered a range of important topics, foremost among them an introduction to human trafficking crimes and their various forms, and enhancing the role of Social Women Leaders in raising community awareness by developing effective communication skills with families to raise awareness of the risks of these crimes and ways to prevent and protect against them. The programme also covered an introduction to the functions of the National Coordinating Committee, as well as the role of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons and the services it provides to victims, whether psychological, social, or financial, thereby contributing to their reintegration into society.
The programme also included an overview of the legal framework governing efforts to combat human trafficking crimes, along with a practical explanation of psychological and behavioral prevention methods for families to avoid falling victim to any form of exploitation. In addition, Dr. Al Zahraa Abu Ali, representative of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, highlighted the role of shelters and mechanisms for referring and protecting abused women.
At the conclusion of the training programme, Dr. Ahmed Saeed, on behalf of H.E. Ambassador Dina El Sehy, Executive Director of the Fund, presented certificates of completion to the participating Social Women Leaders.
The organization of this training programme comes as part of the Fund for Assisting Victims of Trafficking in Persons’ intensive training plan, which targets a number of governorates across the Republic. The plan began last December with the implementation of training programmes in Fayoum and Minya Governorates and will continue to cover 12 governorates, with the aim of building the capacities of Social Women Leaders as the first line of defense against human trafficking crimes and raising awareness of its risks within local communities.
